Welcome Parents and relatives to the 2010 season,

Our program, which we believe to be one of the finest around, has one primary goal and that is to implant in all our participants the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage, so that they may become finer, more rounded and happier children who will grow to be productive citizens in our community.

We welcome you and your child to the 2010 baseball season in Essex. You will be assigned a date and time to pick up your uniform pants at Extra Innings on Rossville Boulevard prior to the start of the season. If the pants are the wrong size, you will be able to exchange them at that time for the correct size. The rest of your uniform will be given to your manager as soon as they arrive.

We will start our season with Picture Day on April 18^th. Pictures will be taken between the hours of noon and 6 pm. Your manager will let you know the time of your pictures. The photographer will take an individual picture of your child and a team picture, which you can purchase. The concession stand will be open and each child will be entitled to one free hot dog and soda. We will also have free snacks at the concession stand as part of our “appreciation” day.

From noon to 6 pm, we will also be hosting the Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run contest on April 18th. It is a FREE competition sponsored by Major League Baseball. See flyer for more details.

Opening Day will be on Sunday, April 25^th . We will begin the day with the coaches’ softball game on Essex Field 1 from 10 am to 11:30 am. As always, the parade will start at 1:00 p.m. (see flyer for more details). Every team will have a game to start the season. Your manager will let you know what time your game will be. Raindate will be Sunday, May 2nd.

Please remember that the regular season will run from April 26th to July10th. The inhouse tournament will actually start on or about June 14th with the final tournament games on or about July 10th. Please remember that these dates could change due to rain and other unexpected changes. Please plan your vacation around these dates as it is important that all of the boys/girls play in the tournament.

It is anticipated that all rainouts will be played the Friday or Saturday following the rainout. Please plan your schedules accordingly because if your child does not show up for the makeup date, it could result in a forfeit for your child’s team.

The final activity will be the Allstar/Trophy day which will take place on Sunday, July 11th at Essex Elementary from 10 am to 6 pm. Trophies will be given out on that day. See flyer for more details.
